Our story

We met on a boat. It seemed right to come back.

Island-hopping tour, 2019. Celeste was seasick. Diego had the ginger candy. By Big Lagoon they were talking; by Secret Beach they had exchanged numbers; by the time the boat got back to town, the tour guide was calling them a couple. Eight years later, we are asking the people we love to make the same trip. Bring ginger candy.

Friday to Sunday. The wedding is Saturday, but come for all of it.

Friday, 16 April

Welcome dinner

6:00 PM Sunset drinks at the beach bar. Barefoot.
7:30 PM Grilled seafood on the sand. Everyone, no seating.
10:00 PM Early night. Tomorrow is the big one.

Saturday, 17 April

The wedding

3:30 PM Guests arrive at the point. Shade, fans, and cold towels.
4:00 PM Ceremony on the sand, facing the lagoon. Twenty minutes.
4:30 PM Sunset and photographs. Drinks under the trees.
6:30 PM Dinner on the beach. Long tables, lanterns, a whole grilled fish.
8:30 PM Toasts, first dance, then everyone.
11:00 PM Bonfire. Last shuttle to town at midnight.

Sunday, 18 April

The boat, again

9:00 AM Island-hopping, the same tour, the same lagoons. Optional, but it is the point.
1:00 PM Lunch on the boat.
4:00 PM Back to town. Goodbyes, or one more night.

Getting there

Two flights, or one flight and a van.

Option one

Fly to El Nido

Direct from Manila or Cebu to El Nido (ENI), about ninety minutes. Flights sell out in April; book by January. The resort van meets every flight.

Option two

Fly to Puerto Princesa, then the van

Cheaper and more flights. Puerto Princesa (PPS), then a five-hour van to El Nido. We have a shared van leaving PPS at 11:00 AM on Friday; reserve a seat when you reply.

Las Cabañas Point

Barangay Corong-Corong, El Nido. Ten minutes from town by tricycle, or the resort shuttle from every hotel on our list. Shuttles start at 3:00 PM on Saturday.

Where the wedding is. Walk to the ceremony. Twenty rooms held until 15 January under Celeste and Diego.

The inn on Real Street

Ten minutes by shuttle. Good breakfast, a rooftop, and the bars downstairs for the Friday night that does not end early.

Quiet · from ₱₱

The cottages at Corong-Corong

Five minutes from the venue, on the sunset side. Families and anyone who wants to hear nothing but the water.

Tell us where you booked when you reply, so the shuttle list is right.

Dress code

Beach formal. Which means: nice, but barefoot.

Linen shirts and light trousers. Long dresses that can handle sand. No heels; the ceremony is on the beach and the dinner is on the beach. Sandals or bare feet. Sunglasses for four o'clock and a light layer for the boat on Sunday.

Things you will want to know.

What if it rains?

April is the driest month in El Nido, and we have a covered pavilion twenty metres from the sand if the sky disagrees. The party happens either way.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, to everything. There is a shallow lagoon, a nanny service on Saturday from 3:00 PM, and a kids' boat on Sunday with a lifeguard.

Is there a gift registry?

You are flying to an island for us. That is the gift. If you insist, the honeymoon fund is on the card.

I get seasick.

So did Celeste. Ginger candy and the front of the boat. The Sunday trip is optional and the lagoons are calm.

Is there phone signal?

In town, yes. At the point, mostly. On the boat, no, and we think that is the best part.
